Solar Lamps

The solar lamps in this section cover a spectrum of types and are suited to a variety of applications. All have solar panels available, which are attached or separate on a wire, depending on the models. Some have optional larger panels, or battery packs. LEDs and CFL bulbs are found with different lamps. Some (the Edulight family) we make ourselves. Others, we buy and sell, with inspection of the products and qualification of the suppliers being part of the due diligence that we perform as an importer and distributor.

Edulight Family of Solar Lamps

These lamps are based upon a few common elements:

• LED bulbs (12 Volt, 1 Watt, 18 LED, 50 degree, 6500K, E27 Base, accepts reverse voltage), or
• Low power fluorescent bulb (CFL , CCFL at 3 Watts, 12 Volts)
• Welded battery packs (2 packs of 5 AA cells for convenience, welded and shrinkwrapped)-- 800 mAh to 2500 mAh NiMH at 12 V total
• Solar panel (polycrystalline 1 W and 3 W panels, with 65 mA to 200 mA output at ~ 17 V)
• Lamp housing, including protective circuitry, switch and charging port

With lamp bodies available in five colours, solar panels in two sizes and battery packs of two sizes, and LED, CFL, and CCFL bulbs, the LED family of solar desk, wall, and table lamps can be assembled in a wide range of configurations. We will prepare any requested configuration, and maintain a modest inventory of popular lamps. Larger orders require time to prepare, and it is possible to ship parts for final configurational assembly at destination.

Of the various components of solar and wind systems, we currently sell solar panels, charge controllers, inverters on the website. We carry products from Outback, Xantrex, Blue Sky, Morningstar, Kyocera, Uni-Solar, GE, Fronius and others. Our stock varies over time, and we can usually obtain items other than those we have on hand. Solar Powerpacks

Using the same solar panels and battery packs as the various lamps are our solar powerpacks. These amazing little device are very portable 12V power supplies. Capable of charging such devices as GPS units and cell phones or running lights and very small appliances, the solar powerpack provides up to 18 watts of power at a time, and contain 3, 10, 25 or even 50 Watt hours of energy.
